Aventuro Ireland’s 3rd National Meeting!
Creating Citizens of the World
Sinéad Muldoon is the Irish representative for the international Aventuro.org, a non-profit organisation that specialise in wonderful reciprocal exchange programmes between Ireland and France, Germany and Spain. The programme allows children between the ages of 8 and 18 to experience a life changing cultural and linguistic exchange, linking two families, communities, countries and cultures from one to six months duration, at affordable prices.
The Irish branch of the organisation is very active and is delighted to have had so many successes with children from all over Ireland travelling to many countries on both summer and school exchanges. The programme supports the children to learn, grow, experience new and challenging adventures, all based in the comfort of a safe and nurturing family environment. All Aventuro families are completely invested in their children and realise The importance of travel, language and culture learning in an immersive environment.
The benefits of the Aventuro Ireland exchange programmes cannot be underestimated. They have a huge impact on the children's life in terms of education, personal development and long-term gain. The children become part of the family and the community in which they reside, creating strong bonds and lifelong friends. They learn a foreign language through complete immersion and while this can be challenging at first, the long-term results are stunning. Children learn acceptance and understanding of different cultures and traditions, they acquire an alternative, and multi-faceted approach to learning, gain improved analytical and problem solving skills not to mention a better insight into global issues.
On top of all of this they develop major self-awareness, self-confidence and self-esteem. They are placed in situations which are unfamiliar and sometimes challenging and discover how to cope and learn, flourish and grow. And their future is brighter with prospective employers looking very favourably on applicants with experience gained overseas.
On the 26th of February, 2017 Aventuro Ireland will hold their 3rd National Family Information Meeting, at the Hudson Bay Hotel in Athlone, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. International members from France, Spain and Germany will be in attendance at the meeting, ready to meet and greet all interested children, teens and parents.
The afternoon will include a presentation on the reciprocal exchanges, the benefits for the families and for the children and in-depth information in relation to how the whole process works, and what to expect. There will also be a presentation by past and existing Aventuro exchange students, sharing their experiences and stories.
Our youngestAventuro adventurer, Hannah Kenny from Co Galway, will be presenting on her 6 month exchange experience from her stay in Alicante, Spain aged 10 years old, and her up coming exchange to Germany in March of this year aged only 11. Hannah has set a goal for herself to be fluent in 5 languages before she is 18 years old and we here at Aventuro Ireland are looking forward to helping her achieve this remarkable goal!
So come along and find out how Aventuro Ireland can help your child to grow and learn and become a citizen of the world.
